2011 CALL FOR ENTRIES

Submissions are now open for the 2011 BigPond Adelaide Film Festival. We are calling for submissions from all genres of contemporary screen culture that have been completed in the last two years – including features, documentaries, animation, short films, experimental and new media.

  • BigPond Adelaide Film Festival (BAFF) accepts feature films and shorts (drama, documentary, experimental and animation) made in Australia and internationally.
  • Short films are considered to be under 50 minutes in length
  • All submissions must have been completed after January 2009
  • Works broadcast on Australian television or on the internet prior to BAFF (24 February - March 2011) are ineligible
  • Works screened at other Australian film festivals are admissible
  • Feature films screened previously in Adelaide are ineligible
  • Short films screened previously in Adelaide are eligible
  • DVDs should be labelled with title, contact details and duration.
  • Submitted DVDs will not be returned
  • All applicants will be notified about selection by email, or post if email not available, by 01 December 2010
  • Selection is determined by preview committees

All submissions to BAFF must be on DVD.

We accept DVD PAL and DVD NTSC. You must label the disc with the film’s title and also put a label on the spine of the DVD cover noting the film title, DVD format and film duration. DVcam tapes are not accepted for preview purposes. Please test computer-burned DVDs on several makes and models of players before sending. DVD+RW and DVD-RW discs are not accepted.

We will not consider previously submitted work.

The Submission Form

All submissions have to be accompanied by a completed submission form, either online or postal. You can submit online here or via Withoutabox. If submitting through BAFF’s online form or Withoutabox.com please include your tracking ID with your DVD.

There are three submission deadlines:

Early Bird – 02 July 2010
Feature – $60
Short – $25

Regular – 24 Sep 2010
Feature – $65
Short – $30

Late – 01 Oct 2010
Feature – $70
Short – $35

Submissions will be accepted via BAFF online, Withoutabox or postal if the form is downloaded from the BAFF website. Completed submission forms and preview DVDs must be received by BAFF by the appropriate deadlines otherwise your film will not be processed. PACKAGES POST (OR COURIER) MARKED ON OR BEFORE THE DEADLINE WILL BE ACCEPTED.
