Tracks: What the Critics are saying

There is *gulp* just over two weeks until Tracks officially opens the Adelaide Film Festival, and tickets are selling like the proverbial hotcakes!

It’s been an enormous few weeks for John Curran's outback epic since it premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Rave reviews from the likes of Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar buzz for star Mia Wasikowska and a distribution deal with Hollywood heavyweight producer Harvey Weinstein all position Tracks as the must-see film event of the AFF.

“The response to this film out of Venice and Telluride was nothing short of astounding and is well deserved,” Weinstein said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

“We’ve had great experiences in the past working with (producers) Emile Sherman and Iain Canning and are thrilled to be on board with such talent as (director) John Curran, Mia Wasikowska and (actor) Adam Driver.”

See what the critics are saying below...

"a gorgeously rendered adventure saga (which) succeeds not only in capturing the harshness and wild beauty of Davidson’s journey, but also in mapping a delicate interior pathway into the heart of this most atypical explorer." - Variety

"alternately haunting, inspiring and dreamily meditative… a visually majestic film of transfixing moods and textures." - The Hollywood Reporter

"achingly beautiful... this is a simple and beautiful journey undertaken purely for its own sake, and approached in that spirit, Tracks will lead you to a place of quiet wonder." - Daily Telegraph

"[Tracks] captures the ravishing emptiness of the landscape and the elemental perils facing a strong young woman." - Time Magazine

"a very handsome film with a terrific central performance" - The Playlist

"Honors its subject's stoic reserve, but allows a strain of warm calico romanticism into her remarkable story." - HitFix

"A restrained and well-tuned performance from Wasikowska; trademark levity from Driver that works to tremendous effect; beautiful scenery; stellar score; a richly rewarding final act." - Film School Rejects

"...lovely to look at, with cleanly framed, golden-hued widescreen images of desert scenery so evocative you practically taste the dust." - The Atlantic

"…a faithful encapsulation of the adventure itself." – Film.com

If that's not reason enough to get you along to Opening Night, how does swilling champagne alongside local, national and international Industry guests at the Freemasons Hall for the gala after-party sound?

This event will sell out, so grab your tickets before they're all gone!
