Acknowledgement of Country

Adelaide Film Festival acknowledges that we work and celebrate screen culture on Kaurna Country. We pay our respects to Kaurna Elders past, present and emerging and recognise their culture, beliefs, and relationship with the Adelaide Plains. We would also like to acknowledge Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia as the first storytellers.

World Premiere - MY NAME IS GULPILIL

World Premiere - MY NAME IS GULPILIL

MY NAME IS GULPILIL

AFF is delighted to present the World Premiere of My Name is Gulpilil at the 2021 Adelaide Festival, Friday 12 March at the Festival Theatre, Adelaide Festival Centre. Tickets are now on sale.

Directed by Molly Reynolds, produced by Peter Djigirr & Rolf de Heer

Early in 2017, legendary Australian actor David Gulpilil was diagnosed with lung cancer. His doctors estimated six months for him but David, being David, was always likely to defy the odds. And he continues to do so with probably his last great work, My Name is Gulpilil. For the first time, it's all Gulpilil, his story, in his words. He takes us boldly on the journey that is his most extraordinary, culture-clashing life.

Don't miss this celebration of David's life with a one-night-only Gala Screening of his story, followed by a retrospective of some of his most important films.

Supported by the Adelaide Film Festival Investment Fund My Name is Gulpilil presented in partnership with the 2021 Adelaide Festival.
